BREAKING: 🇦🇺 Australia wants to eliminate 50% capital gains tax discount on crypto. #Australia is planning to eliminate the current 50% capital gains tax discount on crypto and other assets held longer than 12 months, replacing it with a system that taxes “real gains” adjusted for inflation. This means long‑term #crypto investors could face nearly double the tax burden compared today.

Elon Musk asked Mark Zuckerberg if he would join him in bidding for OpenAI's intellectual property before making his 97.4 billion dollar unsolicited offer in February 2025, newly unsealed court documents reveal . The text exchange began when Zuckerberg reached out to praise Musk's DOGE work at 10:04 PM on February 3, 2025. "Looks like DOGE is making progress," Zuckerberg wrote, adding that his teams would be "on alert to take down content doxxing or threatening" people working with Musk . Less than 30 minutes later, Musk responded with a heart emoji and asked: "Are you open to the idea of bidding on the OpenAI IP with me and some others?" Zuckerberg replied, "Want to discuss live?" . Musk said he would "call in the morning," though it is unclear if the call actually happened . Neither Zuckerberg nor Meta signed the letter of intent or made a bid . OpenAI completed its for-profit conversion in October 2025, and Musk's lawsuit against Sam Altman now seeks up to 134 billion dollars in damages . The same tech rivals who once challenged each other to a cage match were almost business partners. Almost. #fblifestyle #contentplanet #elonmusk #openai #markzuckerberg

Meta just pulled the plug on Willow Village, a massive 3.5 billion dollar mixed-use development that promised to transform the Belle Haven neighborhood in Menlo Park. The project is now on indefinite hold, and the community is reeling from the loss . The 59 acre development was approved in 2022 after five years of negotiations and was set to deliver 1,730 housing units, 1.6 million square feet of office space, and crucially, a grocery store and pharmacy to a neighborhood known as a food desert . Belle Haven residents have limited access to fresh food, and this project was seen as a lifeline. Meta spokesperson Adam Alberti blamed "shifting real estate market conditions and evolution in space requirements," while city officials were caught off guard by the sudden decision . The development agreement is nonbinding, so Meta has no legal obligation to build anything. Mayor Betsy Nash now admits there is a massive "hole in our housing element" that will be nearly impossible to fill . After years of waiting, Belle Haven is back to square one. #newtop #metawillowvillage #bellehaven #fblifestyle #metarealestate

OpenAI has launched the OpenAI Deployment Company, a new business focused on helping organizations build and deploy AI systems across critical workflows. The company will send AI engineers into businesses to find where AI can be useful, rebuild workflows, and connect OpenAI’s models with a company’s data, tools, and systems. OpenAI also agreed to acquire Tomoro, an AI consulting and engineering firm, which will bring around 150 deployment experts after the deal closes. The new company is majority-owned by OpenAI and is launching with more than $4 billion in initial investment from partners including TPG, Bain, McKinsey, Capgemini, Goldman Sachs, and SoftBank. Zuckerberg aims to simulate human biology at the cellular level, pushing AI research toward the cure and prevention of all disease. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is investing 500 million dollars into a high performance computing cluster dedicated to creating virtual models of every human cell. The goal is to understand how cells work, how they get sick, and how to make them healthy again without touching a single patient. The computing power will rank among the top 50 supercomputers in the world. Researchers hope to simulate immune responses, drug reactions, and disease progression years before symptoms appear. The project will generate massive biological datasets and train AI models to predict cellular behavior. CZI is also funding 10 new research institutes focused exclusively on AI powered cell biology. Zuckerberg wants to simulate your cells before they fail. Priscilla Chan wants to cure the diseases that still have no cure. Half a billion dollars is just the down payment on immortality. #fblifestyle #zuckerberg #chanzuckerberg #aibiology #virtualcells

The Pentagon's Scale AI contract jumped from $100M to $500M in eight months. The company, which Meta holds 49% of, is now working on military planning tools and homeland defense systems. The US military is not waiting on AI anymore. #ai #usa #iran

Meta just asked a California judge to throw out the landmark social media addiction verdict that found the company liable for a young woman's depression. The jury awarded 4.2 million dollars in damages to the plaintiff known as Kaley G.M. after concluding Meta's platform designs like infinite scroll and autoplay caused her mental health harm. Meta argues Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act should shield it from liability because the harm came from content she viewed not design features. Lower courts have largely rejected this argument but experts say the interpretation could become a key feature of any appeal. The same judge previously denied Meta's request to delay posting a bond for the damages calling the company's financial resources massive. The company that designed the slot machine in your pocket now blames the reels not the machine itself. But juries keep disagreeing. #fblifestyle #meta #socialmediaaddiction #zuckerberg
